Illini Grove Rules and Information

  1. Hours of Operation. The Illini Grove can be reserved between 8 am-10 pm daily.
  2. Eligible Users. The Illini Grove is restricted to persons affiliated with the University of Illinois including: Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Graduate Students, Undergraduate Students and guests of these groups. Groups must include 50% university-affiliated individuals. Persons not affiliated with the University of Illinois must make special arrangements through the Division of Campus Recreation for use of the Illini Grove. Call (217) 244-3998 for reservations.
  3. Food. Groups making reservations must contact the Safety and Compliance Officer Pat Kerst at (217) 333-1106 before taking any food out to the Illini Grove.
  4. Music. Please use discretion regarding music. Be cognizant of the residential and community dwellings as well as other groups in and near the Illini Grove.
  5. Alcohol/Tobacco/Drugs. Alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and drugs are prohibited within the park. If caught with any of the above, participants will be asked to leave and their event may be cancelled.
  6. Pavilion. The Pavilion may be reserved by groups for a fee.
  7. Children. Children must be accompanied by their parents or a responsible adult.
  8. Cleanup. Groups or individuals using the facilities have the responsibility of leaving their site in a good, or better, condition than they found it.
  9. Fires. Fires should be confined to grills only. They must be completely extinguished by the using group before leaving the Illini Grove.
  10. Damage. Individuals/Groups reserving facility space for activities are responsible for the conduct and actions of those associated with and participating in the event. Any damage to the facility and/or equipment or violations of policies is the responsibility off the individual/groups reserving the space and must be reported immediately. The reserving party is also responsible for the charges associated with these damages.
  11. Misconduct. All patrons are expected to use proper conduct. Infliction or threat of bodily harm, whether done intentionally or with reckless disregard, including threat or action in retaliation for making allegations of misconduct, is prohibited. Use of abusive language and/or sexual misconduct is prohibited.
  12. Restrooms. Restrooms are available only to accommodate reservations.
  13. Parking. Parking within the perimeter of the Illini Grove is prohibited.
  14. Pets. Please clean up after your pets.
