The first step in putting your templates
to work is to define your site within DreamWeaver. By setting up
your site in DW, it requires you to set up your files on your own
machine, your local site, which allows you to a) have a backup for
your site and b) is forgiving because if you mess up a file on your
local site, you haven't done damage to the actual 'live' files on
your server.
DW provides a really quick way to set this up Site Definition Wizard:
• Go to the Menu bar > Site > New Site ;
• Name your site > click 'continue;'
As you follow through Wizard it will prompt you, with each subsequent
page, to tell it whether you want:
• whether you're going to use server technology (php, asp
etc)
• where you want to store your files on your computer
• and how you're going to connect to the server.
Several of these options allow you to make decisions at a later
date, if you're not sure.
