By Default, all templates areas
are automatically locked. This ensures that the elements of the
page that provide consistency remain that way. You create, or unlock,
given areas so that people who maintain content can edit these areas
to their hearts content without inadvertently changing other areas.
Editable areas are easily created with DreamWeaver Templates:
• Click the Editable region button in the Templates tab of
the Insert bar;
• Go to the menu bar > Inser t> Template Objects >
Editable Region
• Press Ctrl + Alt(Option) + V
You'll be prompted to give the region a name (no spaces or symbols,
please). When you go back to your window you'll see a blue border
surrounding the new editable region and a tab with the name you've
given it (note: you can't repeat a name). You can make almost any
html editable in the document window (between the body tags): tables,
cells, images.
(ps. If you decide to rename the region, you'll be prompted to
reflow the content from the old name to the new)
